Documenta la storia degli abitanti delle pianure del sud della Maremma a partire dai primi decenni del Novecento. Fulcro dell’esposizione è la Riforma Fondiaria degli anni Cinquanta, che permise di recuperare le campagne risanate e di assegnarle ai contadini venuti a lavorare in Maremma da altre parti della Toscana e dalle altre regioni italiane. Il museo si propone di ricostruire le vicende che hanno caratterizzato questo periodo storico e le lotte per una terra che costituiva l’unico sostegno di vita. Partendo dalla vita contadina dei primi del Novecento e passando attraverso la documentazione della bonifica idraulica e di quella agraria, fino alla Riforma Fondiaria, il visitatore è accompagnato in questo percorso attraverso il supporto di brani letterari, opere pittoriche, foto e documenti d’epoca.

Piccolo museo sulla vita contadina.A small museum about rural life

L’Archivio delle tradizioni popolari della Maremma grossetana fu fondato all’inizio degli anni ’70 da Roberto Ferretti, antropologo grossetano. Nel ’79 divenne una istituzione del Comune di Grosseto.
Oggetto della ricerca dell’Archivio delle Tradizioni Popolari della Maremma sono i fenomeni tradizionali come il canto, la musica, il teatro popolare e le forme di aggregazione tradizionali, la religiosità popolare, la cultura materiale, la fiabistica, la poesia estemporanea in ottava rima, in relazione alla composizione della struttura sociale, ai rapporti di produzione, alle forme di sfruttamento delle risorse, ed alle modificazioni che intervengono nel corso della storia. L’Archivio delle Tradizioni Popolari fa propri i metodi della ricerca etnoantropologica: l’indagine d’archivio, la ricerca sul campo, l’intervista, l’osservazione partecipante. Nella documentazione si propone di utilizzare le tecniche ormai consolidate, come la fotografia, la registrazione audio e video su supporto magnetico, ma anche di promuovere l’applicazione e la specializzazione di tecniche analitiche diverse: grafiche, informatiche, digitali.The Archives of the popular traditions of the Maremma was founded in the early 70’s by Robert Ferretti, anthropologist Grosseto. In ’79 he became an institution in the city of Grosseto. The object of research of the Archive of Folk Traditions of the Maremma are the traditional events such as singing, music, theater, popular and traditional forms of aggregation, popular religion, material culture, the fiabistica, extemporaneous poetry in eighth rhyme, in relation to the composition of the social structure, relations of production, the exploitation of resources, and to the changes occurring in the course of history. The Archive of Folk Traditions adopts the methods of ethno-anthropological research: the survey of archives, field research, interviews, participant observation. In the documentation it is proposed to use well-established techniques such as photography, audio and video recording on magnetic media, but also to promote the application and the specialization of different analytical techniques: graphics, computer, digital.
