In località Motrone.

In località Diecimo.

The birthplace of the Saint is located at Diecimo (municipality of Borgo a Mozzano in media valle del Serchio in the province of Lucca), right on the premises where the seat of the Association. Recently, on the premises that received on loan free of charge by the Congregation of fathers of the order of the mother of God (OMD) founded by the Holy, completed an intense renovation planning, making suitable premises for a library of over 10,000 books donated to the Association by Mons. Francesco Ambrogi, a sustaining contributor priest diecimino now in retirement. Were made in the building, adjacent to the library located in three halls, a certain number of rooms for rooms and in rooms for consultation for scholars wishing to, for example, produce thesis or other studies with the volumes available that deal with particular social issues and the voluntary sector, religious, historical and philosophical. I am currently in design time property, both extensions to offer spaces increasingly tailored to the number of tasks that are performed in the home, both to be able to provide accommodation to the growing number of books that continue to arrive to the Association; but also because the House of the Holy can become an important place of pilgrimage and prayer.

Old fort overlooking the sea. The construction of the fort is closely linked to that of near Forte di Castagneto. In fact, both were raised in the second half of the eighteenth century, by the will of Lorraine, with a view to reorganizing the military outposts and health of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The two complexes twins were completed around 1789-1790 with the analogous and contemporary Forte dei Marmi in Versilia, and had multiple roles: to protect the coast from enemy incursions, health control, combating smuggling and also constituted an important reference point for the shipment of goods by sea. Currently the building is used as a home-stay / vacation and is regularly rented for that purpose.

With 500 major paintings and pottery glazed Robbia school. Architectural ensemble of great historical, artistic and religious, the only example of Renaissance in the Casentino, declared a national monument in 1899. The Sanctuary is named after a large rock on which the year 1347, farmers in the area noticed a white dove repeatedly that it can be approached only by children and by a hermit Camaldolese Martino da Poppi, who was standing nearby. On 23 June, towards evening, a girl of seven years, Catherine, he saw a “beautiful woman dressed in white” who urged her to ‘God’s love and purity, and gave her the pods, then the evening at home were found filled blood: confirmation of the story of Catherine and foreboding of the terrible plague of 1348, which Bibbiena area remained immune. In 1486 a fire destroyed the primitive church, later expanded, was built by ‘hermit Martino. That same year, construction began on the construction of the sanctuary, which had a particular increase in 1495 through the work of Father Girolamo Savonarola, considered the founder of St. Mary.
