In località Crevole.
In places Crevole. The area where the castle stands Crevole, practically the entire municipality Murlo Today, it was in medieval times one of the top feuds of the bishop of nearby Siena. The privilege was granted in 1189 and by the end of that century, the bishop’s domain area was complete, so that it accounted for virtually all of its estates. Since 1274 while maintaining full power over the feudal bishops were subject to militia for the City of Siena and from 1387 to pay tribute. Only in 1749 were abolished on the rights of the bishop Murlo and its territory. As evidence of the long period under the hegemony of a fraction of the ecclesiastical capital still bears the name of ‘Bishop’. Although the country already appointed Murlo was the capital of the manor another important residence of the Bishop’s Castle was Crevole, existing at the time of the creation of privileges but later expanded and further strengthened to better meet the needs of the new owner. In the early fourteenth century the bishop Malavolti further enhances the property. The garrison was stationed at the castle of Siena, although employed by the lord of the manor and the same Siena tried to seize it at the end of ‘400. The most important feat of arms that interested Crevole was also the last act of his life: during the war of Siena imperial troops completely razed to the ground the fort. Important manor house, once surrounded by a double circle of walls and full of towers, are today the tower at the top of the hill (presumably the original nucleus of the first fort), part of the curtain walls of the tower and parts of the base section of the walls outside. Totally abandoned until a few years ago, now all part of a farm and few remains have been consolidated.

In località Conventaccio.
In places Conventaccio. The hermitage is a place of great charm, despite being reduced to little more than a ruin. The remains of the building appear to be in the thick of the spot, yet vivid colors that mix in the alternation of the dark green marble and precious Vallerano pink marble. It remains part of the perimeter walls interrupted by thin cover with single windows to depressed arch, the vault, barrel, collapsed, are also traces of pilasters and capitals that support the arch at one half of the nave. Augustine was one of the largest and its construction dates from the thirteenth century, in 1449 there took place the last chapter of the congregations of Augustinian observance. In the seventeenth century, the precarious condition of the building forced the men to move past.

In località Lusuolo.

Lusuolo Castle stands on a small pad overlooking the river Magra, at the northern end of the fortified village, built on the ridge line along one road axis, which preserves the original layout and many simple elements of the perimeter structure. The building is organized around a central shaft with trapezoidal courtyard overlooked by circles of different ages who expose the sequence of construction phases of the castle. The vertical structures are almost entirely made of stone boulder from the river, while for the vaults and barrel, it is preferred the use of tufa stone. Recently restored, the castle houses the Museum of Emigration of the people of Tuscany.
