Made by the Poor Clares from 1659, is completed in just two years: the first mass was celebrated Mass in the August of 1661. On the front appears the coat of arms Di Monte (?) And remnants of nineteenth-century frescoes prospective Figlinesi due perhaps to the artist Giuseppe Righi. The building consists of a single classroom with vaulted ceilings. On the counter, the choir repeats the ways that Sansovino in St. Augustine. Inside, there are many works of art: the most interesting are a few shovels of clay. On the right wall are the terra-cotta altarpiece depicting St. Lawrence between Rocco and Sebastian, to be considered an autograph work of Andrea Sansovino (1465-1529), mentioned by Vasari (“He […] in Florence, a table of baked clay for the church of San Lorenzo with a […] Sant’Agata et some other saints, and petioles little scenes worked very well “): this fact comes dal’Ex Priory of SS. Agatha and Lucy. This work is dated around 1490 approx. Always on the right is a Nativity output from the workshop of Andrea della Robbia, attributed to Luca Della Robbia the Younger dating from the first decade of the sixteenth century. Also from the former prioriria of St. Agatha and Lucy, came to this church in 1793. On the wall of the altar there is a wooden statue of Our Lady of Seven Sorrows, the late eighteenth century. The large canvas of the main altar, painted by Salvi Castellucci in 1663 depicts the Presentation in the Temple among the Saints Nicholas Savino and Clare, commissioned by the Galletti family whose coat of arms is used in parts of the wooden frame in the cope of the painted figure of Saint Nicholas . On the left wall are still a hand-glazed earthenware of Sansovino, provenance dallìex priory of St. Agatha and Lucy (it was the altar piece) depicting the Madonna and Child with saints in glory: the work, who came to this church in 1793, is shortly after the loader with the St. Lawrence (1490 ca.) glazed and it was only later, probably from the workshop of Benedetto Buglioni. The last great work in which we find is the terracotta statue of St. Anthony Abbot Robbia school (late XV – early XVI century). The blade provinene from the church of Saint Anthony Abbot (now St. John’s) and came here in 1793: on that occasion was added to the frame in glazed earthenware of the early sixteenth century.
The body of the building, built in the first half of the fourteenth century, was enlarged in the sixteenth century and then renovated in the eighteenth century. On the left side was added in 1532, a cloister, with low arches and porch upstairs. Both the church and the cloister were renewed at the beginning of the sixteenth century by Andrea Sansovino. On the facade must be noted medieval Gothic portal with twisted columns and the canopy. Inside, a single nave covered by trusses, are frescoes by Spinello Aretino school the beginning of the fifteenth century, those of Paul Schiavo (Pietà and Saints) in the second half of the fifteenth century and those of the Florentine school of the XIV- XV. In the presbytery, a Taking Giorgio Vasari (1539).
The facade of the Gothic style, with a fine portal of Andrea Sansovino in Tuscan style. Originally the entrance was dall’attiguo cloister of St. Augustine in the early seventeenth century by the architect – Savinese painter Orazio Porta thorough restructuring of the building and was probably on that occasion that the portal on the facade of the Sansovino was moved in Piazza Di Monte with the creation of new access. The interior should be – apart from the nineteenth-century arrangement of the altar and baptismal font – a design that Orazio Porta thought the church to organize a single room into three areas separated by arches resting on piers and along the walls covered with times to cruise. From this church came the great statue of unglazed terracotta della Robbia school (late XV – early XVI century) that was transferred in 1793 in Santa Chiara.Qui three tablets were found showing stories of St. Bartholomew and St. Augustine, works Vasari , now preserved in the Museum of the Casa Vasari in Arezzo.

It was built around 1175, with the transfer of the parish of Barbaiano in the unusual position within the city walls. Construction signs are Romanesque structure in horizontal blocks of sandstone on the front and left side. It was renovated several times in 1749 and completely renovated. In 1813 he was entrusted to the Society of the Blessed Sacrament, and later, the Brotherhood of Mercy. Inside, the plant with a single room, the environment presents itself features a main altar and side altars six typical Baroque eighteenth century, leaning against the wall is placed the choir. The most valuable is the tomb of the jurist Fabiano, family Ciocchi Del Monte, where a State, Cardinal Giovanni Maria, in 1550 he was elected pope under the name of Julius III. The current location does not reflect the original position and is characterized by an erroneous reconstruction of the structure. To the right of the main altar are the remains of a fresco of Niccolò Stay showing curtain-bearing Angels (1496 approx). Of great importance and beauty of the church organ, with six records, is century building which makes it one of the oldest in Italy.

In località Porto Santo Stefano.

In Porto Santo Stefano. E ‘is an example of military architecture dating from the period of Spanish rule. In the center there is a permanent exhibition of underwater archeology, and one in the Masters of the Axe able to ‘navigate to the wood’. The fortress, probably built around 1560, after the establishment of the State Presidium (1557), is a remarkable example of military architecture in Spain. On the top of a hill to defend the port, has a square base fitted with buttresses resting on a square base made up of two terraces crowned with a sequence of trap doors. On the lower terrace can still see the stone circles that were the carriages of the guns rotate the nineteenth century. Stores are located in the basement, and storage tanks for the garrison. Currently set up within the fortress are two exhibition sections: one devoted to underwater archaeological finds collected in the waters of the Argentario and the island of Giglio and the other documents the activities of carpenters, say shipbuilders . In località Porto Ercole.

In Porto Ercole. Built in the late seventeenth century as a Spanish military garrison, named after characteristic plant of the star-shaped core. Forte Stella is part of a complex defensive system, link in a chain of massive military structures that were connected to a Spanish bastion called State of the Garrisons. Entering Port Hercules for the first time, anyone can see that in a few seconds and protected throughout the country will make a perfect military architecture dating from the XVI century., Bringing fantasy to the glorious past, or in tragic cases, when the sea Mediterranean was infested by pirates. The strong, the center of the Tyrrhenian coast was a perfect site from the standpoint of military strategy, so that the Spaniards made it a concentration of resources, troops and ships, never seen before and perhaps even later. The garrison of Fort Star was established by the will of Calo V and Philip II in 500, and further perfected, it’s just the assumption that even before that time were already present before military posts. It is the sixteenth and seventeenth-century military architecture has contributed to the maximum development and improvement of military forts reached almost intact to this day. Mail to 158 m the fort was built where there was already another fort called Fort of vultures in the late ‘500. The map information date back much later and in general lack accurate information on the design phase, but it is assumed that the fort was completed in stages for about 100 years in the early 1600s, perhaps 1609 or 10, perhaps in same year that Caravaggio died of typhoid fever in the infirmary of St. Mary Help of Christians, located just below the Spanish fortress of Porto Ercole.
The monastery is already documented in 772, as a royal monastery, and like other similar institutions, was an important economic center, rich in land, houses, annuities, and other appliances. In the Carolingian period was personal assets of their wives and daughters of the kings (it was a convent of Benedictine nuns), so as to be referred to as the “Queen of the monastery.” It was then known as San Salvatore “in Alina” probably from the name of the town now called Agliana who had to have a certain prominence in mediaeval times. The monastic complex was built at a route that crossed the Apennines, an alternative to those that were owned by Pistoia, towards the ancient and important Taona Badia a path and in close coordination with the foothills resulting dalla’antica Cassia and consequently, exercised, probably since the beginning of the function hospitium. Was dependent on the Abbey of San Salvatore in Brescia. From the tenth century, almneo for some time, was no more royal demesne and passed into the possession of the powerful Guidi, who had large possessions across the Agno Valley. In the tenth century was assigned to the Bishop of Fiesole, though still linked to the Diocese of Pistoia, in the next century was at the convent of Fiesole, San Bartolomeo in 1440 and went to the Lateran Canons Regular. The church, part of a larger complex of buildings, a legacy of the ancient monastery, has a single nave, a Latin cross with three apses, whose outer surface is covered by arches of Lombard influence. Of particular interest is the crypt, apse and divided by the lower part of columns in bare, bare as are several capitals decorated with vegetal motifs, dating between the tenth and eleventh centuries. The current building has undergone a major restoration in 1920 aimed at highlighting the Latin alphabet.
