The theater is the Greek form (that uses the natural slope of the ground) and was built in the period of Silla and Claudio and embellished by Septimius Severus. The auditorium is thirty feet in diameter. The upper tier is destroyed, while the lower ones are well preserved. In the theater, down, there were three rows of seats and nineteen distinct steps separated by five steps (now only ten), one part the steps are carved in stone and elsewhere, where there is also the well, resting at times supported by concentric walls. On top of the stairs there were the lodges the courts for the most prominent characters. The theater could hold about three thousand people. The front-consisted of a two-story porch was destroyed, of which only the foundations remain to show the three ports reserved for actors. Two wings covered (the versurae) framed the scene and brought to a side porch to the east behind the scene (of which nine remain pillars) and the warehouses to the west, used for the costumes and props. The orchestra was originally paved with polychrome mosaics and was ended by a proscenium. At steps, the orchestra and the stage was reached by propylaea, which had shelves and the boxes were adorned with fluted columns. The theater is still used in summer for performances of opera Summer Fiesole.

It is accessed by a nineteenth-century double staircase. It was erected at the same time the cathedral, in 1028, when James was bishop of Bavaria, but was the subject of subsequent extensions and conversions especially in the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries (in the fourteenth century by Bishop Andrea Corsini and later by the bishops Ginori Cattani da Diacceto). Considerably higher than those of Bishop Philip Altoviti Blacks, whose seventeenth-century coat of arms stands over the entrance. The current façade is from 1500. Inside is the chapel of the bishop adorned with frescoes from the late fifteenth century with St. James and San Romolo and God the Father. Oratory, dedicated to San Jacopo Maggiore and built by the bishop from Diacceto Cattani, will keep a Coronation of the Virgin Mary attributed to Lorenzo di Bicci, there are also other paintings by Nicodemus Ferrucci and Antonio Marini. To the right of the presbytery is the bishop’s palace built in 1032 to house the Canons of the Cathedral. In 1439 it was enlarged by adding a patio or a porch, a marble column in the center with a small metal image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, called Arezzo, commissioned by Bishop Ranieri Mancini.

Of fourteenth century conceals his true age is not evident from its exterior facade overlooking the central Piazza Mino. The first impression is of being in front of a building because of the Renaissance loggia coorredata columns of stone that they see a match in the upper terrace. The current appearance is due to subsequent restoration started since 1436. As was common Fiesole and later home to a Podesta, in parallel we can find traces of this past in the building. In subsequent years he was a winer functions by acting as a school, town hall and museum. On the front are reminiscent of coats of arms, not only different mayor who took turns at the helm of the city, but also the communal period the previous year.

In località Monterappoli.
In places Monterappoli. The church is an interesting example of Lombard Romanesque Valdelsa engaged in the cultural tradition. The derivation of Lombardy is evidenced not only by the use of brick, from an inscription, located on the portal that resembles a Magister Bonser, Lombard architect of this building in the year of Lord 1165. The church has a nave with an apse wooden roof, the component is valuable especially in Lombardy furnishings architectural details: the portal projecting the facade, surmounted by a lancet window and the decoration of the outer ring with interlaced arches, which, in the apse, are supported by slender columns. This church became the prototype for many other buildings and a little later in Valdelsa sites above: just look at the facades of the church of Saints Ippolito e Biagio and college of St Laurence and Leonard, both Castelfiorentino. But his influence can be seen also in later buildings, as the church of San Francesco, always Castelfiorentino. On the left side of the church, separate from this, stands the bell tower, squat brick tower, built after the Second World War. In the Roman Church in volume Valdelsa there is an interesting picture where the façade is still depicted as it was before the last restoration made after the publication of the book (1968), and with mullioned oculi two walled and two large windows in front during the eighteenth century.

This is the ancient palace of the Counts Guidi, Empoli landowners in the area, and was probably built in the eleventh century. He became famous as the seat of parliament Ghibellines in 1260, which came together after the victory in the battle, the leaders of the Ghibellines and the enemies Guelph Florence King Manfred of Sweden, the Republic of Siena, the Florentine exiles led by Farinata Uberti, Arezzo and Pisa, and also that they had participated in the battle. On that occasion, Farinata degli Uberti persuaded not to destroy the Ghibellines in Florence. The event was also mentioned by Dante in his Divine Comedy, Inferno Canto X: ‘But I was only there, where he suffered / was for each to take by way of Florence / he who defended it with open eyes’. In the sixteenth century, the palace was bought by the family Ghibellino Del Papa and renovated, very little remained of the original structure. Today, having returned to public use, is used for exhibitions and associations.
