Del XII secolo. Racchiusa nel cimitero del paese. In stile romanico ad unica navata. All´interno affresco del 1380 attribuito alla scuola di Spiletto Aretino. C´è anche una lapide in marmo con iscrizione a ricordo della consacrazione della chiesa.

In località Montecastelli.
Le tombe della necropoli orientalizzante ed arcaica si trovavano, fino agli inizi del XX secolo, sepolte sotto alcuni metri di scorie di ferro, detriti lasciati ancora in epoca etrusca dalla lavorazione di questo importante metallo.

Ci sono i resti di un antico impianto termale etrusco e i suggestivi fenomeni naturali delle “putizze” e delle “fumarole” che conferiscono al paesaggio un aspetto fantastico e misterioso.

Del 1100. Ospitò l´Ariosto e il commissario estense Fulvio Testi.
La Rocca Ariostesca domina la piazza principale di Castelnuovo in Garfagnana e costituisce il simbolo della città. Risalente all’XI secolo, deve il suo nome al fatto di aver ospitato dal 1552 al 1525 il poeta Ludovico Ariosto, che ricopriva in questo periodo l’incarico di governatore della provincia estense di Garfagnana.
Architettonicamente si presenta con la forma caratteristica delle costruzioni medioevali: piccole torri agli angoli ed una quadrata al centro che aveva la funzione anche di prigione.
Nel corso del XIII secolo la struttura della rocca venne modificata e in particolare durante il periodo di dominazione lucchese subì numerosi cambiamenti tra i quali ricordiamo l’allargamento dell’intera cinta muraria urbana, operato da Castruccio Castracani degli Antelminelli, e la realizzazione dell’imponente torre posta al centro della Rocca, impreziosita dall’orologio civico, grazie a Paolo Guinigi.
Nel 1675 fu costruita la terrazza che guarda sulla piazza in corrispondenza dell’arco monumentale di accesso al centro cittadino.
In seguito ai danni arrecati in occasione della seconda guerra mondiale, la rocca fu restaurata e modifica nella struttura. Attualmente è sede di eventi culturali e ospita il Museo archeologico, nel quale si possono trovare testimonianze dei periodi preistorico, liguro-apuano ed etrusco in Garfagnana.
1100. Hosted Ariosto and Commissioner Este Fulvio Testi. La Rocca Ariostesca dominates the main square in Castelnuovo Garfagnana and is the symbol of the city. Dating from the eleventh century, owes its name to the fact that he hosted from 1552 to 1525, the poet Ludovico Ariosto, who held this time as governor of the province of Garfagnana Este. Il ponte di Santa Lucia è uno dei ponti medievali più imponenti della Garfagnana, e si trova nel paese di Castelnuovo, il centro più importante della zona. E’ un ponte carrabile costruito in pietra arenaria. Realizzato nel corso del XIV secolo, ha due arcate a tutto sesto di eguale ampiezza. Raffaello Raffaelli, in accordo con una consolidata tradizione orale, nella “Descrizione Geografica, Storica, Economica della Garfagnana”, ne attribuisce la costruzione a Castruccio Castracani, datandola al 1324. Il ponte, restaurato nel 1822, fu fatto saltare dai tedeschi in ritirata durante l’ultimo conflitto mondiale ed è stato ricostruito nel dopoguerra.
1300. The bridge of Saint Lucia is one of the most impressive medieval bridges of Garfagnana, and is located in the village of Castelnuovo, the most important town in the area. It ‘s a road bridge built in sandstone. Made during the fourteenth century, has two round arches of equal size. Raffaello Raffaelli, in agreement with a strong oral tradition, in the “Description Geographical, historical, economic Garfagnana,” attributes its construction to Castruccio Castracani datandola 1324. The bridge was restored in 1822, was blown up by retreating Germans during the Second World War and was rebuilt after the war.
Fu iniziata a costruire da Alfonso d´Este nel 1567 e fu terminata nel 1584. Oggi è la porta d´accesso al Parco delle Alpi Apuane.
